Description : The Canada Land Inventory is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary land inventory of rural Canada, covering over 2.5 million square kilometers of land and water. This digital dataset includes land capability for agriculture, forestry, wildlife, recreation, wildlife (ungulates and waterfowl). Over 1000 mapsheets are available on this site for direct download. The primary objective of the Recreation Sector was to provide an estimate of the quantity, quality, and location of outdoor recreational lands in the settled portions of Canada as basic information for planning recreational use of the resource. The inventory classes recreational land-use capability from Class 1 with very high capability to Class 7 with very low capability.
