Description : The Canada Land Inventory is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary land inventory of rural Canada, covering over 2.5 million square kilometers of land and water. This digital dataset includes land capability for agriculture, forestry, wildlife, recreation, wildlife (ungulates and waterfowl). Over 1000 mapsheets are available on this site for direct download. The Canada Land Inventory land use classification divided the land into a maximum of 13 classes, based on air photo interpretation, field surveys, and census information. These classes include: built up areas, recreation, quarries/mines, intensive cultivation, cropland, pasture, rough grazing, woodland-production, woodland-nonproduction, wetlands, barren and water.
